Do you have a Green Box?
I recently attended a conference on the Gold Coast and had the pleasure of hearing a gentleman by the name of Mark Lewis speak. Mark talked about “Bernie’s Green Box’ and the tragic circumstance in which this green box helped Mark navigate an exceedingly challenging time.
So, you ask, what is a green box? During Mark’s speech, he referred to the green box as being a box that was green and that his parents had told him held all their information, should anything happen to them.
Mark’s parents were both tragically killed in an aviation accident in New Zealand. While settling his parents’ estate, Mark was advised it would take quite a time before the matter would settle. Mark was given a list of documents that he needed to collect and return to the solicitor. Mark went home to that green box and within it was all those documents that solicitors said would take months, even years to sort out.
After Mark’s talk, it made me think about what I needed to put in my green box. Here’s my list with a little help from Mark Lewis; oh, and the green box is the place where you put all this information.
Also important! You need to tell someone where that green box is.
